DOGGY FUN PARK RULES & REGULATIONS:

Please read this page carefully before booking a Playgroup or Private Hire session at the Doggy Fun Park.
Zoom Zone information is further down the page.

Beechgrove want all visitors (dogs and human) to enjoy their time at the park, but please observe the following guidelines to ensure your own safety and that of your dog.

Please follow staff guidance as we only wish to protect you,
your dog, and all visitors – remember that should your dog attack or injure another dog or person not just at Beechgrove, but anywhere, you are held liable by law.

GENERAL DOGGY FUN PARK RULES:

  • Dogs MUST always be kept on lead in the Car Park and Reception Area
  • Dogs should always be supervised by their owners/handlers
  • Owners/Handlers MUST clean up after their dog(s).
  • Dogs and Children (under 16) should always have adult supervision and never be left unattended in the park at any time.
  • Please keep off the equipment – Dog Park obstacles and agility equipment are designed to be used by dogs only – Children should always be supervised and not allowed to climb on the equipment!
  • Dogs under one year of age should not be encouraged to jump as their joints are still developing.
  • All food waste, cigarette butts, paper cups and rubbish must be placed in the bins provided – these are all tempting treats for your dog but can make them ill.

ADDITIONAL PLAYGROUP RULES:

  • Use caution when interacting with dogs that are not your own. Some dogs may not enjoy affection, may be very nervous of humans or particularly children. Please respect each dog’s boundaries and guide your children on safe interactions.
  • All visiting dogs should wear a collar or harness.
  • Playgroups are unsuitable for female dogs in season and pregnant dogs. Please enquire about Private Hire.
  • Non-neutered male dogs are typically restricted to a certain amount per playgroup – they are still of course welcome to join in but please be aware that spaces will be slightly more limited for them.
  • Should you become concerned about another dog’s behaviour, please consult a member of staff.
  • Do not open any Dog Park gates without consulting a member of staff.
  • Never approach or go into another play area with visiting dogs.

ADDITIONAL PRIVATE APPOINTMENT RULES:

Upon arriving to the park for your Private Appointment please come over and check in at our reception area before letting your dogs out of the car.

  • Please do not interact with any other visiting dogs without the owner’s permission.
  • Never approach or enter another visitor’s appointment area.
  • Reactive, aggressive or dogs on prohibited breed lists are very welcome to make use of private hire of the park – please ensure they are safely muzzled (if required) & restrained in the car park until they are in their play area. Please make staff aware of any reactivity towards humans, so that they can help your visit be as stress-free as possible.
  • No Punitive training, harsh handling or abuse towards dogs will be permitted in the park.
  • Private Appointments are for personal use only – please no training groups or meet-ups booked without permission. To enquire about booking for these services please contact us directly.
  • If you run into someone else’s time, you are liable to pay for that customers session.

Breach of these conditions may result in refusal of future bookings.

If you know your dog can be difficult to get back on a lead, then make sure to allow plenty of time before the end of your session to put them on lead again.
Running into another person’s booked time is not fair and may result in losing the ability to book.
If you overstay into someone else’s booked time, you will likely have to pay for that customers session.

ZOOM ZONE – RULES and TERMS & CONDITIONS:

The hourly session in which you book for using the Zoom Zone gives you enough time to:

·        Arrive at your session on time

·        Drive into the Zoom Zone

·        Ensure you have fully closed the gate

·        Unload your dog(s)

·        Use the Zoom Zone

·        Load your dog(s) back into your vehicle

·        Drive out and close the gate behind you

This hourly session allows the time for you to do all the above points as well as picking up after your dog and tidying the Zoom Zone after your visit.

The Zoom Zone is by appointment only, you will have exclusive use of the play area, so there are no other people or dogs inside the area while you are using it. For extra peace of mind, you can lock the gate during your session with a padlock provided. Information for this is on the main gate.

Please try to arrive at your session on time. We ask that if you are early to wait patiently away from the Zoom Zone (at the dog park, or the wind turbine which is located on the same lane past the Zoom Zone) until it is your sessions start time. This is so that you are not interrupting another customers session and can avoid cars meeting on the narrow laneway. Please bear in mind we welcome reactive and aggressive dogs, never approach the Zoom Zone when it is in use.

If you arrive late to your appointment, you must still leave when your appointment slot is finished. Anybody who overstays their session more than three times will not be allowed to return.

If you know your dog can be difficult to get back on a lead, then allow plenty of time before the end of your session to put them on. Not being able to get a dog on a lead is no excuse for running into someone else’s time. Any owners who cannot get their dogs back at the end of their session must notify us immediately.

If you run into someone else’s time, you are liable to pay for that customers session.

DO NOT enter the Zoom Zone or unload your dog(s) from your vehicle until all other Zoom Zone customers have left the premises. The field will be used by some reactive/nervous dogs therefore there should only be one customer or group with their dog(s) on site per hour.
If you arrive early and see a car or somebody using the Zoom Zone please do not approach and remain in your vehicle until they have vacated the premises.
The laneway is shared (local farmers) and narrow, please do not block gates or access points. If needed you can drive down the lane towards the wind turbine and turn there, this also allows you to leave room for other visitors to exit.

If you arrive for your allocated booked session and there is another customer in the Zoom Zone who doesn’t seem to be leaving the field, then please call one of the 2 numbers listed. DO NOT approach or enter the Zoom Zone.

We pride ourselves on keeping the Zoom Zone clean and tidy. The Zoom Zone is checked regularly at random times of the day between customer visits. If we suspect that you are not cleaning up after your dog(s) or following the guidelines on how to keep the Zoom Zone tidy, this may result in you not being able to return to the Zoom Zone.
If you believe that a user before you has left the Zoom Zone untidy or has done damage to the play area, we ask the you please do let us know immediately, it is unfair that your session should ever be ruined by another visitor not following the guidelines.

LEAVE NO TRACE:

· Please clean up after your dog and use the poop bin provided.

· Broken or chewed dog toys, litter, uneaten treats, food of any sort, chewing gum & cigarette butts MUST all be put in the bin provided.

· Any toys that you use, PLEASE RETURN to the ‘Used Toys Box’ at the end of your session.

· Please do not allow your dog’s to purposely (dig, chew, climb etc) damage equipment, ground, fencing, bins, toy boxes and water facilities.
· Use the water facilities with caution, please do not cause flooding to the water area – this can create safety issues by making the area slippery for other users.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL BEECHGROVE VISITORS:
Your dog should have their vaccinations/titre test up to date and puppies must have had all their puppy shots. Dogs suffering contagious diseases or conditions must not be brought to the park until they are fully recovered. If a dog is found to exhibit symptoms of any disease, we must remove the dog from the park for the safety of the other dogs.

CODE OF CONDUCT & ETHICS:

Beechgrove is a fun, safe space for all visitors (dog & human);
